As much as I love cakes, I hated the look of the official website of the most famous Egyptian pâtisserie, La Poire (lapoire.me).

Website has many broken parts, not mobile-friendly (responsive), needed more dynamic touches and its UX/UI needed improvements.

I started imitating the website giving it what it lacks with a more modern look. I used pure HTML/CSS along with jQuery and a little vanilla Javascript to get the job done. I never looked at the original code while writing my code to raise the challenge.

I ended up with a full front-end website up and running, with more than 30 Javascript scripts to give the website the modern dynamic look through transitions and animations. I added a fully working eCommerce plugin to control the shopping cart (Although I know shopping cart stuff are better done in the back-end to control security).

Website also features a Javascript interactive ‘Complains’ questionnaire form that gives options according to user answers to form questions. Website also features some improved designs using Photoshop (originally downloaded from the original website) to match the website color theme.

Website is not fully multi-lingual, but it features an alternative homepage in Arabic, together with 10 English pages. Website is fully responsive on all mobile devices even with very small screens using CSS Media Queries. Special designs for landscape mode were taken into my consideration. Swipe effects are present as well using some jQuery plugins.

Website is fully tested on all popular desktop/mobile browsers according to browser market-share stats as of November 2018. Although this was a non-profit project made only for training purposes, this modern pixel-perfect website gives users the eye relief (UI) and the experience (UX) they need to be happy with the website, and therefore to have more trust in the product.
